Samantha, a resident in your caseload, has asked to have an advance directive in the event that she is incapable of making a decision, such as a psychiatric crisis. She is concerned about making sure that she is given the correct medication, as she is allergic to Haldol. She also has a family member she would like the facility to call on to make decisions about her care in the event of a crisis. In your initial post, address the following:
